Qualitative Data Analysis in NVivo

Several file types are accepted in NVivo for qualitative analysis. These could include word, txt, pdf, audio, videos etc.

1. Click on Import at the Ribbon bar

2. Select what to import (e.g., project, files, dataset, bibliography, notes or codebook)

3. If you have a file stored on your computer, select Files, then choose the file type to import (e.g., Documents, PDFs, pictures etc)

4. The imported files will be saved under Files in the Navigation bar and open in View list, as shown in the figure below.

1. To access the files, double click on the file and it will open in the detailed view area.

2. You can then begin to read your manuscript (or any other file type you open), and code your data.
