What is Virtual Reality and 360?

Virtual reality is the term used to describe a three-dimensional, computer generated environment which can be explored and interacted with by a person. That person becomes part of this virtual world or is immersed within this environment and whilst there, is able to manipulate objects or perform a series of actions.   (Virtual Reality Society Accessed April 17, 2018)

360°  is a passive experience whereby the viewer is immersed in "surround" content which has been filmed from every direction to create the experience of 360 space. However, the viewer does not shape the outcome.  (Historica Canada FAQ Accessed May 8, 2018)
