Web and Social Media Archiving

Archive-It is a subscription service of the Internet Archive, which allows institutions to use IA's tools and infrastructure to develop curated collections of web material. It has been in use at the Lakehead University Archives since 2017. 

We have been using Archive-It to document Lakehead University's own web and social media presence; to document governments and social services in Northwestern Ontario and in Simcoe County; and to document municipal, provincial, and federal elections and their impact on our regions. 

The account is managed by the Archives, but accounts can be made available to support research projects at Lakehead.
