A primary source is a resource that was written or created during the time or event in focus.

For Example:

  • A letter written by a soldier during World War II
  • A photograph of forest fires in Fort MacMurray, Alberta in 2016/2017  
  • A newspaper article about the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
