Local Newspaper Articles
Local newspapers for Port Arthur and Fort William are available in microfilm format dating back to the late 1800's. Articles pertaining to agriculture can be located using the online index Gateway to Northwestern Ontario History.
Conduct multiple searches to find a broad spectrum of articles. Useful search terms include agriculture, farms, farmers, farming, crops, crop harvesting, etc. The online index does not include full-text of the articles, it is an index only. Articles can be accessed using microfilm in the library collection.
