The purpose of data extraction is to create a standard template to capture the needed information from the included studies. This allows the review team to analyze and compare data points across all studies.
Data extraction forms can be created and used in Covidence but Covidence provides two data extraction tools:
Extraction 1 is for intervention systematic reviews and it has a built-in PICO(T) structure.
Extraction 2 is for non-intervention systematic reviews.
