Inuit Studies Conference

The Inuit Studies Conference is a biannual international and multidisciplinary conference held at institutions in North America and Europe. Presenters include university researchers, professionals, elders, and representatives from Inuit communities, governments, and a range of other organizations. Presentations focus on all aspects of Inuit culture, history, society, and language, as well as the physical Inuit homeland and its environment.

The first conference was held at Université Laval, Québec City, in 1978.  Topics presented at the first conference focused on Archaeology and Ethnohistory, People of Southern Labrador, Social Organization, Linguistics, and Land Claims. The conference has grown significantly since then and now includes a wide range of topics pertaining to Inuit studies.

The library has many of the conference proceedings and they are located on the library 5th floor, call number North E 99 E7I45
