Non-commercial user-generated content - Mash-up exception

According to Section 29.21 of the Copyright Act, you can use an existing work in the creation of a new work if:

• it is for non-commercial purposes
• the source of the original work is mentioned
• not infringing copyright law
• does not have a digital lock
• use of this content will not cause adverse economic effects (loss of sales)
