This video, and the instructions below, describe how to request a print book be delivered to you from another Lakehead location, and how to request that an excerpt from a print book, or an article from a print journal, be delivered to you electronically.
On the library homepage, choose the Catalogue Search link to search the book catalogue. You may also wish to click the Advanced tab on the next page. Using the Advanced search gives you more tools to work with (i.e. choosing to view only e-books, or books in Orillia, etc).
When your results come up, notice the location, and whether or not the item is available (or if it is currently checked out to someone else). Paterson Books means that the book is in Thunder Bay. Education Library Books also means Thunder Bay. A book at one of the two Lakehead-Orillia libraries will have the word Orillia in the location area.
After clicking on a book title, you will be on the full record for that book. If you want to have that book transferred to your location, or if you would like an excerpt delivered to you electronically, click the REQUEST button on the right side.
You will need to login with your Lakehead credentials (i.e. your My Info or email credentials). After logging in, you will see these options. If the item you want said "Available", choose the Available? Reserve and PickUp (Transfer) link. If you want an excerpt of the book (or a journal article), to be delivered to you electronically, choose the Request an excerpt or journal article link.
To request an excerpt or journal article, indicate, on the next page, precisely which article (if you are requesting an article from a print journal), or which excerpt / page range (if requesting a book excerpt) you need.
For requesting a print book be transferred to you from another Lakehead location, you will want to scroll to the bottom of the final page, and choose which location (or which library) you want to pick the book up at.
