Scholars GeoPortal is geospatial data discovery tool allowing Ontario’s university students and researchers to enrich their teaching and research by engaging with OCUL’s growing collection of geospatial data. The portal offers search, preview, query, download and sharing functionality for datasets licensed by Ontario university libraries, covering such topics as land use, transportation networks, census boundaries, geology, soils, air photo imagery, points of interest (such as healthcare facilities, schools), and more.

Atlases and Maps

The library has a collection of general and specialized atlases on the 2nd Floor near the central elevator. Consult the Online Catalogue for specific titles or ask at the Services Desk.

In addition, the Library has A to Z Maps Online which includes over 4,000+ maps.

The majority of maps on the Thunder Bay campus are housed in the LU Geospatial Data Centre, Room RC 2001, in the Regional Centre. The Centre provides spatial expertise in the form of data, education, project support and spatial analysis to Lakehead University students, staff, faculty and research.
