Once you have registered, use the blank request form, to fill out your request(s). Remember to choose "Lakehead-Distance Education" as your "pick-up location" at the bottom of the form; that way, when we receive the book here, we will immediately ship it out to you.

Articles are sent to your email.

Contact us at 807-343-8135 if you have any questions.

Receiving and Returning Materials

Library materials are sent out and returned through Express Post. There is no cost to you for receiving and sending material using Express Post. (Express Post is a courier service of the Canada Post Corporation).

Receiving Library Materials:

Express Post operates using a "Signature on Delivery" system - please sign for receipt of all library materials. You do not have to pay for receiving materials from the Library.

The Library ships books, government publications, etc. in reusable envelopes - please open the envelopes carefully and keep them for return mailing.

The Library encloses an Express Post return shipping label in each envelope

Returning Library Materials:

You do not have to pay for return of materials to the Library. The Library requests that materials be returned in their original shipping envelope.

Please pack items and seal the package.

Affix the prepaid Express Post label to the package.

Take your shipment to the nearest Canada Post outlet for processing.

Borrowing Regulations

Library materials may be borrowed for three weeks use.

Loan periods for some materials may be shorter. Note the due date of each item, as listed on the packing list enclosed with your package.

Overdue fines are not charged for materials returned late; however, replacement costs will be charged if a book is not returned 6 weeks after due date.

Materials can be renewed for one (1) additional loan period, provided that the item has not been requested by another borrower.

If you have overdue materials or outstanding charges, additional materials will not be sent.

* Overdue notices will be sent to your lakeheadu.ca email account! Please check this e-mail on a regular basis. *
